Growth Conditions: ATCCmedium 1525: Seawater 802 mediumTemperature: 25.0°C Protocol: ATCCNO: 50419 SPEC: Upon receipt place frozen ampule directly into a 35C water bath. Transfer thawed contents to 10 ml of bacterized ATCCmedium 1525 in a T-25 tissue culture flask. The medium is bacterized by adding a loopful of Klebsiella pneumoniae subsp. pneumoniae from an agar slant to 10 ml of medium at least 24 hours before inoculation with the thawed suspension. Subculture every 14 days. Vigorously agitate and aseptically transfer a 0.1 ml aliquot of cell suspension to a fresh flask of bacterized medium.
