Growth Conditions: ATCCmedium 1967: Soil freshwater cereal grass mediumTemperature: 25.0°C Protocol: ATCCNO: 50315 SPEC: This strain is shipped as a growing culture. Agitate the test tube and distribute the entire contents to 10 ml of fresh ATCCmedium 1967 bacterized with Enterobacter aerogenes ATCC13048. Screw the cap on tightly and incubate at 25C. This strain does not form a cyst stage and must be passaged at regular intervals of approximately 14 days. To subculture, agitate the flask vigorously and aseptically transfer a 0.25-ml aliquot to 10 ml of freshly bacterized ATCCmedium 1967. Incubate as above.
Permits/Forms: In addition to the MTA mentioned above, other ATCC and/or regulatory permits may be required for the transfer of this ATCC material. Anyone purchasing ATCC material is ultimately responsible for obtaining the permits. Please click here for information regarding the specific requirements for shipment to your location.
Comments: The SSU rRNA gene sequence of ATCC50317 is quite distinct from that of ATCC50316, ATCC50318, or ATCC50319. These are probably different species and are designated as such by the different suffixes. phylogeny based on SSU rDNA sequence [21778]
