Permits/Forms: In addition to the MTA mentioned above, other ATCC and/or regulatory permits may be required for the transfer of this ATCC material. Anyone purchasing ATCC material is ultimately responsible for obtaining the permits. Please click here for information regarding the specific requirements for shipment to your location.
Host Organism : bovine turbinate (BT) cells (ATCCCRL-1390) BT cells (ATCCCRL-1390); P388D1 mouse macrophage cells (ATCCCCL-46)
Incubation : Duration: 3 days at 35C in BT cells (ATCCCRL-1390), 5% CO2
Effect : Yes, in vitro effects: Dense forms enter cytoplasm and reticulated forms develop, then change to dense forms and are released from the cell
Comments : Reference antisera against Coxiella, Wolbachia, Chlamydia, and Anaplasma spp. and 14 members of the genus Rickettsia all failed to react significantly. Cross-reactivity was observed with Cowdria ruminantium (Kiswani isolate). [111668] Identification is recommended by 16S rRNA sequence, GenBank accession number AF042496. [111668] MEM with 10% serum [111668]
