Comments : Mice inoculated by the i.n. route will die in 3-4 days. The strain produces non-fatal disease in the GP. It is morphologically and serologically related to psittacosis group. Stable at -60C. Withstands lyophilization. Previously classified as C. psittaci; see Fukushi & Hirai (IJSB. 42: 306, 1992) for classification information. Mice inoculated by the i.n. route will die in 3-4 days. The strain produces non-fatal disease in the GP. It is morphologically and serologically related to psittacosis group. Stable at -60C.
