Incubation : Duration: 4-7 days
Effect : Yes, in vitro effects: Mild cytopathic effect, antigens detected by FA on Elisa
Comments : Cell culture-propagated, nondefective, helper virus component of strain T; similar to REV-A. Seed stock cloned by endpoint dilution. Induces immunodepression and stunting in chickens, also induces chronic lymphomas (both B- and T-cell). Classified in antigenic subtype #1. Cross reacts with all known REV strains. This nondefective component of strain T is believed to lack the rel oncogene which can be found in the defective component of strain T.
