Effect : Yes, in vivo effects: Death of chicken embryo Yes, in vitro effects: In cell culture produces inclusions which can be visualized by Giemsa or fluorescent antibody staining
Comments : Centrifugation (2000 X g for 1 hr) and addition of cycloheximide recommended for passage in cell culture. Triturate fluid several times to disperse chlamydia. For cell culture, centrifuge inoculumn, adsorb for 1 hour and feed with HEPES buffered culture medium.
