Comments : This product is a murine monoclonal antibody (IgG2b; kappa light chain) to the full length hemagglutinin of a highly pathogenic avian influenza A virus (HPAI), strain A/Hong Kong/483/1997 (H5N1). The source hybridoma was derived by immunization of a BALB/c mouse, followed by fusion of splenocytes from the immunized animal with SP2/0-Ag14 cells (CRL-1581). The antibody preparation supplied is affinity purified from serum free supernatants of cultured cells. It is provided at 1mg/ml in D-PBS with 0.02% sodium azide, 0.1 ml per vial. Monoclonal antibody 1F7 (ATCCVR-1608) is broadly reactive against H5N1 HPAI hemagglutinins by ELISA against recombinant proteins. Limited information suggests it may react poorly or not at all with H5 hemagglutinins of low pathogenicity avian influenza (LPAI) viruses. It does not cross with other HA types evaluated to date by ELISA (H1, H2, H3, H7, H9). 1F7 is useful for western blotting, ELISA and immunofluorescence. It is not neutralizing.
