Incubation : Temperature: 31.0°C Duration: 1-3 days; For best results, cells should be 24 to 48 hours old and 80-90% confluent at time of infection [not 100% confluent].
Effect : Yes, Cytopathic effect: Rounding and sloughing of infected cells
Comments : Selected after mutagenesis with nitrosoguanidine and replication in the presence of bromodeoxyuridine. The non-permissive incubation temperature is 39.5oC. This mutant was assigned to Dales EM category H & Q indicating it is a composite of D-F as well as complete immature particles and mature particles of normal appearance. The mutation was assigned by complementation analysis (Lackner, et al, 2003) to vaccinia map location U18.
