Effect : Yes, Cytopathic effect: Rounding and sloughing of infected cells
Comments : Not described in the original publication, but assumed to have been selected after mutagenesis with nitrosoguanidine. The non-permissive incubation temperature is 39.5oC. This mutant was assigned to Dales EM category C, indicating that it induces rudimentary virus membranes with spicules in foci of viroplasm in infected cells. The mutation was assigned by complementation analysis (Lackner, et al, 2003) to vaccinia map location A24.
