Incubation : Duration: 5-7 days
Effect : Yes, tumorigenicity: Tumor formation (wing-web)
Comments : Elicits fibrosarcoma formation and ocular disease in chickens (Beard, J.W., Adv. Cancer Res. 7:1, 1963). This strain, of archival interest, is likely a mixture of viruses. Any of a number of isolates or clones (ie. ATCC45000) of Rous sarcoma virus would better serve most researchers.
