Host Organism : 3 to 6 week old chicken, s. c. or i. m. inoculation chicken; chicken embryo cells
Incubation : Duration: 3-30 days
Effect : Yes, in vivo effects: Tumor; death
Comments : The partly purified microsome fraction prepared from the tissue of RSV induced tumors will produce new tumors in almost all chicks of a susceptible strain injected s.c. or i.m. with 0.2-0.5ml of a 1:100 dillution. This strain probably has several viruses in a complex mixture. To maintain the mixture, the virus should be propagated in vivo (SPF chickens).
