Original Source: Original isolate, deposited as VR-1302, was obtained from the lower respiratory tract of an infant with bronchiolitis and bronchopneumonia in Melbourne, Australia, 1961. VR-1540 was derived by treatment of VR-1302 to remove adenovirus contamination at ATCC.

Incubation : For best results, plate cells 24 to 48 hours in advance. Infect at about 80% confluence using a multiplicity of infection (MOI) of 0.1 to 1.0. Incubate 3 to 10 days at 37.0℃, until CPE are well advanced.
Effect : Yes, in vitro effects: Cytopathic effects in culture include syncytium formation by infected cells.
