Comments:Animals were immunized with human thymic stroma.
Spleen cells were fused with P3X63Ag8.653 myeloma cells.
The antibody reacts with cells in the thymic capsule and interlobular septae and vessels.
It also reacts with non-endocrine fibrous stroma in the thymus, and with mesodermally derived connective tissue in other parts of the body.
It defines the mesodermal component of the human thymic microenvironment that most likely induces thymic epithelial differentiation early in the development of the thymus.
Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox).
