Spleen cells were fused with Sp2/0 mouse myeloma cells.
The antibody labels mature monocyte-derived dendritic cells but shows weak or no labeling of other peripheral blood mononuclear cells. [53324 ]
In tissue sections, MG38 identifies DEC-205 on thymic cortical epithelium and dendritic cells in the thymic medulla and tonsillar T cell areas. [53324 ]
The antibody reacts with DEC-205 in tissue sections from both humans and rhesus macaque monkeys.
Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, Catalog No. 30-2001.To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 5%
Atmosphere: air, 95%; carbon dioxide (CO2), 5%
Temperature: 37.0°C
Subculturing: Protocol: Cultures can be maintained by the addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 2 X 10 exp(5) viable cells/ml. Maintain cell density between 1 X 10(5) and 1 X 10(6) viable cells/ml.
Medium Renewal: Add fresh medium every 2 to 3 days (depending on cell density)
Preservation: Freeze medium: Culture medium with an additional 5% fetal bovine serum, 95%; DMSO, 5%
