Comments:The tissue donor was a presumed heterozygote for xeroderma pigmentosum, and was the brother of Ge Ar (ATCC CRL-1161) and the son of Ce Ar (ATCC CRL-1165 ) and Be Ar (ATCC CRL-1167 ).
Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium, Catalog No. 30-2002. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Subculturing: Subcultivation Ratio: A subcultivation ratio of 1:2 to 1:3 is recommended
Medium Renewal: 2 to 3 times per week
Remove spent medium, add fresh 0.25% trypsin for 1 to 2 minutes, remove trypsin and let the culture sit at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes. Add fresh medium, aspirate and dispense into new flasks. Subculture every 7 to 9 days.
