Comments:Animals were immunized with LPS activated DBA/2J mouse B cells.
Spleen cells were fused with Sp2/0-Ag14 myeloma cells.
The antibody reacts with a 35000 dalton antigen present on subsets of activated mouse B cells and activated CD4 + and CD 8 + mouse T cells.
The GL7 antigen is expressed on up to 70% of activated B cells and on high proportions of ConA activated CD4 + and CD8 + T cells.
Unstimulated B and T cells are infrequently GL7 positive.
The antigen appears to be a lymphocyte activation antigen that is different from those previously identified.
Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: RPMI 1640 medium with 1% nonessential amino acids and 0.05 mM 2-mercaptoethanol, 90%; fetal bovine serum, 10%
Temperature: 37.0°C
Subculturing: Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 2 X 10 exp5 cells/ml and maintain between 1 X 10 exp5 and 1 X 10 exp6 cells/ml.
Preservation: Culture medium, 95%; DMSO, 5%
