Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium with 4.5 g/L glucose, 0.2 units/ml insulin, 3 mM L-glutamine, 1 mM sodium pyruvate, 0.15 mg/ml oxaloacetic acid and 0.01 M HEPES, 80%; NCTC 135 medium, 10%; fetal bovine serum, 10%
Subculturing: Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 2 X 10 exp5 cells/ml and maintain between 1 X 10 exp5 and 1 X 10 exp6 cells/ml.
Preservation: culture medium, 40%; fetal bovine serum, 50%; DMSO, 10%
