Karyotype:modal number = 52; range = 46 to 54; This is a hyperdiploid cell line with 24 to 26 marker chromosomes common to all cells., Nine markers (M1 - M9) are common to L-M(TK-) (see ATCC CCL-1.3) and 16 to 17 are found only in A9. The latter markers include Rb(3.5), Rb(4.15), Rb(5.5), T(8;19), Rb(9.17) and 11 to 12 others., Structurally normal chromosomes 4, 15, 16, 17, 18 and X were absent. Note: Cytogenetic information is based on initial seed stock at ATCC. Cytogenetic instability has been reported in the literature for some cell lines.
Tumorigenic:Yes; Yes, in nude mice
Antigen expression:H-2k
Comments:1 The cells are sensitive to HAT selection medium and deficient in adenosine phosphoribosyl transferase (APRT) and hypoxanthine phosphoribosyl transferase (HPRT).
2 The cells are resistant to 8-azaguanine (0.003 mg/mL) and 6-thioguanine (0.1 mM).
Unpacking and storage instructions
Check all containers for leakage or breakage.
Remove the frozen cells from the dry ice packaging and immediately place the cells at a temperature below --130°C, preferably in liquid nitrogen vapor, until ready for use.
