小腸結(jié)腸炎耶爾森氏菌屬腸桿菌科，最適生長溫度為22～29℃，在0℃也能生長。有34種O抗原，19種H抗原和1種K抗原，由抗原組成可分成許多菌群。從病人分離出的菌型大多數(shù)為O3型，少數(shù)為O5、O8、O9和混合型。

三、細菌的實驗室檢查及其它檢查
1、標(biāo)本采集常為糞便以及食物，也可取血液和尿液等。
糞便標(biāo)本采集要求：采集的動物糞便標(biāo)本應(yīng)新鮮，病人的糞便標(biāo)本最好在發(fā)病3-5病日內(nèi)，使用抗生素之前。糞便采集量每份不少于5克，置于干凈塑料袋或置于運送培養(yǎng)基中于6小時內(nèi)送實驗室檢測，夏季標(biāo)本的保存和運送要注意冷藏。原則上每天采集的標(biāo)本可分兩次送至實驗室，即上午的標(biāo)本中午12時前送到，下午的標(biāo)本晚6時前送到，以便于及時開展檢測醫(yī)`學(xué)教育網(wǎng)搜集整理。
2、分離培養(yǎng)——以糞便標(biāo)本為例
（1）冷增菌糞便與改良磷酸鹽緩沖液以1：10混合于4℃增菌，并于10天，20天分別轉(zhuǎn)種麥康凱MAC平板或耶爾森菌屬專用選擇性培養(yǎng)基CIN于25℃培養(yǎng)24～48h.
（2）該菌的菌落在MAC平板上呈無色透明，在CIN平板上呈粉紅色，偶爾有一圈膽鹽沉淀；
（3）將可疑菌落接種改良克氏雙糖培養(yǎng)基25℃培養(yǎng)24h～48h，上、下層均為陽性（即顯黃色）者接種Rustigian氏尿素培養(yǎng)基（使成濃厚菌懸液），振蕩10秒鐘25℃培養(yǎng)2～4h.
（4）尿素陽性者再接種半固體各2管，1管于25℃培養(yǎng)24h，另1管于37℃培養(yǎng)24h.該菌在25℃動力陰性，37℃動力陰性。
3、生化鑒定（25℃培養(yǎng)）：典型小腸結(jié)腸炎耶爾森菌主要的生化反應(yīng)情況：脲酶陽性、硫化氫陰性、VP25℃陽性、鳥氨酸脫羧酶陽性。發(fā)酵葡萄糖、蔗糖產(chǎn)酸不產(chǎn)氣，不發(fā)酵密二糖和鼠李糖。
4、血清分型。
